Residing in the 100-year old chook shed, our Rhode Island red chickens ('chooks') are keen to point out that having their own page on the Penny's Hill website does not mean their residence is available for hire.

As key employees at Penny's Hill, the chooks keep themselves busy in a PR type role, entertaining visitors. They also take their self-appointed job of keeping the property clear of food scraps very seriously. The chooks are very keen supporters of Kane's cooking and have become adept at charming samples from friendly guests.

The chook shed seems to be as big a draw as all of the other attractions here at Penny's Hill. The 'girls out the back' are not surprised one little bit, however. They know how important they are.
