FUNCTIONSThe grounds at Penny's Hill provide great scope for a whole variety of functions and events. The paddocks surrounding 'Ingleburne' homestead and the cellars are very picturesque. Enclosed by an impressive limestone wall and post and rail fencing, an excellent backdrop for all occasions, the property is perfect for every type of happening; be it a product launch or a romantic wedding. THE GEDNEY ROOMPart of the cellar door building and home of 'The Kitchen Door' restaurant, is available for hire by the day, half day or for an evening function. Seating between 80-90 people, or for cocktail style events, 150-200 using the adjoining Drew's Verandah, this area is the perfect venue for any type of function. A selection of tables and chairs is available for use, as well as conference and audiovisual equipment. DREW'S VERANDAHNamed after Drew Dowie the architect (and brother-in-law of Penny's Hill proprietor Tony Parkinson) who was responsible for designing the Penny's Hill cellar door, gallery and Gedney Room, the verandah is an enclosed space to which a marquee may be attached to extend onto the lawned area. Ideal for grazing and gazing. THE STABLESWith a sawdust floor offers a memorable rustic venue for up to 110 people to celebrate. Ideal for receptions, long table dinners or major family milestones. THE BBQ INNAn outdoor undercover area, with a most spectacular fireplace, is perfect for about 15-30 people to stand and toast themselves by the fire whilst drinking fine Penny's Hill reds and cheering on players gracing the petanque piste. KEITH'S BARNNamed after Keith Rowland, whose family lived at 'Ingleburne' for four generations. It seats approximately 12 people - another intimate rustic building. THE COTTAGELocated at the back of 'Ingleburne' homestead was the original farm bakehouse - located away from the house for safety - less likely for a fire to spread from the oven to the house that way! The cottage provides an intimate tasting/meeting room for up to 12 people. |
